Write a piece for the site: write to contact@thedowntownbeat.com with the subject “Pitch: [Your pitch title].” At this moment, I’m only taking pitches for:

• Show previews: possibly involving you visiting rehearsals, interviewing the creative team, attending a performance, etcetera—the piece should give subscribers an idea of what to expect if they choose to go to the show.

• Feature: a specific lens through which you’re looking at the theater/entertainment/art world, which would include interviewing relevant subjects, digesting other articles/videos, and explaining emerging phenomena to readers.

• Essays: a reflection on a show/series of shows through a specific lens that makes it relevant even for subscribers who have not seen them.
  
  I’m not currently taking pitches for reviews, reflections on individual pieces that do not speak to people who haven’t seen them, or interviews/roundtables (all interviews will happen through the subscriber-exclusive Downtown Chats podcast).
  
  All collaborations will be compensated based on the number of hours required to produce them and the length of each piece.
